Prenatal means "before birth." Even before your baby is fully formed, a medical caregiver should check you and your unborn baby to make sure that everything is progressing as it should. These regular monthly checkups will ensure that your baby is born healthy and that you have a trouble-free pregnancy and delivery.

During a prenatal healthcare visit, the medical caregiver will check your weight and take a urine sample and draw blood for various tests and to check your nutritional levels. You will be given guidelines for nutrition, exercise, and allowable activities during pregnancy.
