It is important now that you surround yourself with others who know what you’re going through. You may be experiencing emotions and thoughts that lead you to believe you are not normal, or that something may be wrong. Whatever you do … you should not attempt to "go back" into "normal" life without a secure foundation of post-placement counseling, support, and information. You will become overwhelmed quickly. Friends and acquaintances will not be able to relate to you as they once did, nor will you be able to relate to them the same way.

You have changed. You have become a mother. You have endured a great loss. You are different now. Without finding your "place" in this new world you now belong to, you will feel lost, separated, and very alone. Relating to those who are in this world with you will give you the strength and the peace to become whole.
