- Pregnancy-induced hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Pre-term rupture of membranes
- Pre-term labor during a prior or current pregnancy

- Intrauterine growth retardation
- Active disease of the thyroid, heart, lung, vascular system, or metabolic system (such as diabetes)
- Bleeding
- Cramping
- Faintness
- Dizziness
- Severe joint pain
