Take little steps. If you had planned to finish your high school degree, make one phone call today to find out what you need to do. Tomorrow you can take the next little step, which might be making an appointment with your school counselor or getting a book on studying for the GED test. Then you can make a plan for studying different portions of the book.

If you are going to get a job, start by making a list of your talents and abilities. The next day look at some different resume layouts to see how you should construct your own resume. Make an appointment with an employment agency after that.

If your plans for the future are to continue with college, parenting other children, or rejoining your career in progress, take it slowly. Each day do one small thing that will move you further down the road to achieving your goals for the future.
